phone

Happy Birthday to Us!

Brian and I got each other new iphones for our birthday today!  My phone hasn't been working well and Brian's got shattered so we just went for the new ones.  Luckily we were up for upgrades anyway.  So in the spirit of iphone 4 I found some cute covers on etsy.  They go from "incredibly adorable" to "I want to buy that."

Brown Paper Packages Tied Up with String

When Where the Wild Things Are came out in theaters there was this fort building competition. I did not find out about it until after it was over, when my favorite blogger built one with her friends.

So here is mine....

(I love my blanket my great grandma Launa made, I'm crocheting a blanket for my mom now, and my toms are awesome)

and all of my favorite things....

( Caffiene Free Diet Coke, Colored Pencils, People Pencil Sharpeners, Little Women, Harry Potter, bird vase, elephant tea pot, The Independent Woman sketchbook, Urban Outfitters mattress pad, iphone, anthropologie catalog, Ready Made Mag, Bible)

here is the overview

(Yeah I knitted a sweater for my lamp...what of it?)

I couldn't resist a portrait of Brownie; my best friend of 23 years.

Reason #5 why I love my iphone...

Yep this is really in my top 5 reasons why I love my iphone.

I really like to read books that I'm not smart enough to read.

(I attribute this to my piano teacher Mrs. Amermann who made me play songs that were too advanced for me. But once I meddled through it I found such a great sense of accomplishment I felt the need to add this within other parts of my life.)

People are also generally surprised at my inarticulacy, bad spelling and lack of grammar in proportion for my love of reading.

What this all really led to was a very heavy purse which always had the book I was currently reading, and a pocket dictionary and a pocket thesaurus (which I asked for on my birthday during high school).
Ah, but now I have an iphone! My favorite application is dictionary.com! Here is a list of the words that I looked up just during the last 100 pages of Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

pneumatic
indecorous
sepulchral
bumptious
dolichocephalic
neurasthenia
coquettish

Such a beautiful language. Now I even know how to pronounce the words and their many forms because my dictionary.com app says the words out loud for me.

Ahh technology.(which is a very ironic statement to write after reading Brave New World.)
