Asher's Octopus

I made this for Asher's first birthday. It took a long time and did result in many poked fingers, but it was worth it.

Snow Day....again

Last week:
Monday : School closed early at 11am, therefore my class was canceled.
Tuesday: School closed all day.
Wednesday: School closed all day.
Thursday: Delayed start.

Fast forward to today.
Thursday: School closed.

There is maybe a centimeter of snow on the ground. People in the south will close school for anything.

Here are some pictures of last week. When I can inside I literally had a layer of ice on my coat.

This was the view from my porch.

I had to walk around this tree branch that was blocking the sidewalk to get to the park.

Swings! Even the seat is covered in ice.
Many people were without power for up to five days. Branches were and some still are down everywhere. It looked like a tornado hit Cape.

I sold the fiercest of all fierce t-shirts on etsy yesterday!

Yeah me, someone in New Hampshire will soon look fierce in a Kayleigh original. I love it! I'm so excited.

Hell Yes I'm the Best

I've been wanting to do this all Project Runway Season but I finally did it.

I made my own Christian Siriano tshirt. Isn't it fierce?



I did it using freezer paper method...I think it is great.
I was talking with some of the girls in my fashion classes and we were thinking of making these shirts and putting fashion merchandising on the back! We would use them as our class shirts! How funny would that be?

Woes of Taffeta

Ok, so I work at David's Bridal as a non-bridal consultant. In layman's terms I can sell everything except wedding dresses. So I sell bridesmaids, mother of the bride, flower girl, and prom dresses. I really like it. I know I'm surprised that I could ever like retail but I really like it. The people are super nice and easy to get along with. I don't work enough to get sick of it. But there is one thing that is wrong with it: I've started to think that taffeta is a normal occurrence in everyday life.

I used to call this LOHGS...this stands for Lack-of-Hot-Guy-Syndrome. This is a disease that young girls get at camp. They start to want to date boys that they wouldn't under any other circumstance outside of the camp world. It is because there is nothing else around so they avert to wanting to date the boy that's in front of them...aka desert island syndrome aka LOHGS.

This applies to dresses because looking around and taffeta is all I see and taffeta looks GREAT. If I were to ever get married I kinda promised myself that my bridesmaids would wear dresses they would pick out for themselves to go to the wedding in. No unnatural colors like sea foam, sage, or peach. Now that I'm surrounded by brightly colored taffeta colors like clover, and cornflower are looking really good on taffeta!

All I can think is, I better have a five or more year gap in between this job and my fictional wedding.
