For Good

Ever thought of crafting for good?  You can always find out about how you can share your talents with under resourced people on craftster.org.  They have a board called crafting for good not evil.  On this board I found this really cute campaign to get 132 dolls to an orphanage in Haiti. (HERE)  Just something to bring a little joy to these young kids' lives in a torn country.  This "I Sew Cute" girl on craftster really did make some cute dolls.  There is still time for you to participate.  They are asking that they are post marked by November 1, 2010.

Projects Galore!

Okay so last week I had a funny dream...

If you know me at all this would not surprise you. I have the oddest most vivid dreams every night.

Anyway this one was about me not getting my books in time to go to class, and basically the usual stressful dream about trying to get to a class but never really getting there because there are always obstacles in the way. Anyways I fitfully tried to wake myself up with the reassurance that it was a just a dream but I remembered that I hadn't ordered my books yet! and classes must be starting soon! The truth of the matter was that classes were in fact starting the very next day but I am not signed up for any of them, because I graduated a month ago. I had to tell myself that I was never taking classes again...and I started to panic a little bit...What?!?!?! what will I do with my life?

So I started a few projects...So now I have crafting supplies strewn about my room and partially started projects thrown about as well.

I think I went into project over load. But the idea of them is really fun. So here is the inspiration for a few of the projects I had started...

I read a ton of blogs. "Modish: the blog" is an awesome one that features a lot of indie designers. It also has a monthly giveaway of tons of cool stuff, like the above picture. Maybe you notice the little lady I call winter in the bottom corner...That's right, I submitted a finger puppet for the giveaway!

My friend Ashley gave me the book, Creepy Cute Crochet by Christen Haden. So I made Ashley the bride and her fiance the groom for Halloween. These are actually stuffed dolls and bigger than my finger-puppets.

Fran

Fran is a little too old to play with dolls, so instead she makes doll clothes for fun and insists that it is more grown up than actually playing with them.


Fran learned how to sew by watching her mother.
