Boot Cuffs

Last Christmas I was a knitting fiend.  I'm fairly certain I had all of my knitted projects completed by this time.  I knitted something like 9+ hats, 7+ boot cuffs, a cowl, and 3 mice.  Do I have good pictures of any of them, no!  Of course not!  I was too busy getting them wrapped up and ready to go and feeling exceedingly proud of myself.

I will not do that again this year!  That’s mostly because I’m making very few of my gifts.  Right now I have a squirmy 2 month old napping in my lap as I type away.  So as a first time mother, I feel very busy.  My time is mostly occupied by every whim of this tiny little boy who only wants to be in constant contact with his momma.

Anyhow here is a free pattern for one of the boot cuffs I made last year.  I especially loved these.  Just be careful to get the right gauge that works for you.  Otherwise you will have cuffs that don’t make it past your calves or ones that won’t stay up!

Here is a blurry cell phone pick of these.  I apologize for this and hope that I won’t make the same mistake of not taking quality pictures!

Free November Calendar!

I'm trying to keep up with a blogging calendar now that I'm doing it a lot more often.  Well, of course I had to make a cute calendar that I can actually write on.  It helps me process.

The spirit of it all

The older I get the more I like Halloween.  Part of it, is having the CUTEST little neighbors and I look forward to them trick-or-treating at my house every year!  And now thanks to Pinterest, Halloween decorations are getting much cuter and more in line with my style.

I may be a little late this year, but I'm starting to get into the Spirits of Halloween...  Click the links below to download these desktop wallpapers!

Time for Snuggles

I know this is 2.5 weeks too late.  But I've had this on my computer for a while and figured, why not share it now!  Let's face it, what else is February good for?  It's been unseasonably miserable.

Sad Love

I'm not sad...
Brian has been out of town for the past few days on vacation.  I had to stay home and work.  That's enough to make anyone crabby. To say the least I've found myself highly irritable.  I don't think it's because I'm jealous I think it's just because I don't get to see him as much as I like!  Well here are the things that make me feel better...

There is something about Jif Creamy Peanut butter that just soothes the soul.  It has been my go to food for when I'm feeling homesick, lonely, or disappointed.

What goes best with peanut butter?...Diet Coke.  It may not really go together but man oh man.  If I'm crabby just bring me one of these and I instantly lighten up.  I'll feel better.  It's an amazing thing.

Not only is this movie the ultimate chick flick with strong leading female roles, Christian Bale, and an amazingly emotional score but it gives you a reason to cry, if you needed to get that out.  It's also an excuse to get a little Christmas into your life when it's out of season.  Even though this isn't a Christmas movie at all it still has adorable Christmas scenes.

These three actors also give a great distraction to my lonely days.  I may have watched three of the Harry Potter movies in the last three days.  It's not my fault that ABCfamily was having a Harry Potter weekend right when I needed it.

Doing a craft project is the perfect distraction when you need one.  If it's big enough, time will move by faster than you want it too!  Too bad I already sewed all the wedding bunting that I had.  What  should I do for the next few days?

This picture came from the most adorable crochet blogger on the north side of the hemisphere; Attic 24.
