Valentine Garland

I have been in such a crochet mood this winter.  Winter is the best time to crochet!  Today I whipped up a fun quick project that I got from the craft blog.

VALENTINE'S HEART GARLAND

It reminds me of all of the cute thing Attic24 makes.

Sad Love

I'm not sad...
Brian has been out of town for the past few days on vacation.  I had to stay home and work.  That's enough to make anyone crabby. To say the least I've found myself highly irritable.  I don't think it's because I'm jealous I think it's just because I don't get to see him as much as I like!  Well here are the things that make me feel better...

There is something about Jif Creamy Peanut butter that just soothes the soul.  It has been my go to food for when I'm feeling homesick, lonely, or disappointed.

What goes best with peanut butter?...Diet Coke.  It may not really go together but man oh man.  If I'm crabby just bring me one of these and I instantly lighten up.  I'll feel better.  It's an amazing thing.

Not only is this movie the ultimate chick flick with strong leading female roles, Christian Bale, and an amazingly emotional score but it gives you a reason to cry, if you needed to get that out.  It's also an excuse to get a little Christmas into your life when it's out of season.  Even though this isn't a Christmas movie at all it still has adorable Christmas scenes.

These three actors also give a great distraction to my lonely days.  I may have watched three of the Harry Potter movies in the last three days.  It's not my fault that ABCfamily was having a Harry Potter weekend right when I needed it.

Doing a craft project is the perfect distraction when you need one.  If it's big enough, time will move by faster than you want it too!  Too bad I already sewed all the wedding bunting that I had.  What  should I do for the next few days?

This picture came from the most adorable crochet blogger on the north side of the hemisphere; Attic 24.

I miss it...

With all of the wedding stuff going on, I miss crafting for crafting sakes and for other people.  I miss crocheting.  We all know that crocheting decreases immensely in the summer in general.  This happens because who wants to tote a lot of yarn around and have half of a wool blanket on you while your at the pool.  The nights are finally starting to cool down and I would love for crocheting to come back in my life.
Here is a blanket that I made earlier this year for this special guy, Oliver Feltes.  I love making blankets but I don't own any myself because I always give them away!
I would love to make a blanket for Brian and I like the one from Parks and Recreation.  It looks like one Urban Outfitters used to sell.  I can tell that the hook and yarn used are smaller than I like to do blankets.  That means it will take more yarn and more time!  I think it would be worth it to make something special for my home.  I like all of the colors too.
I'm constantly inspired to make beautiful things like the ones Attic24 makes.  Her blog is amazing and she takes pictures of the English countryside that are very inspiring.  Her colors are not my taste but they sure are pretty.
Check out this yarn collection!  I'm drooling a little bit.  I never think to use so many colors in something that I've crocheted.  When I make a blanket for myself I will!

Early October Stars

1. Made By Girl: Made By Girl posted about Kime Busselli's art work. I just really like her style. I want to try it out someday.

2. Attic 24: I absolutely love this blog, and especially this post. October is my FAVORITE month....just check out all of these amazing fall photos. This one is from the ideal homes calender.

3. Once Wed: I just love this photo. I also enjoy reading up on men's fashion. If I were a boy I would dress like that.

4. The Small Object Steno Pad: I just love the vintage looking fabrics in this fall inspired patchwork piece.

5. Drew-o-rama: Drew posted a blog about Amanda Wachob's tattoos. I've never seen anything like them. I just like anything that goes against the grain...so naturally I think these are awesome.

6. Once Wed: This is from a '30s inspired wedding. I think this might be a photo of the guests! How awesome is this picture? I would put this is my house, if I had one.

7. Craftzine Blog: I just think this is cute and looks nice on a wall. It's worth trying, the supplies are virtually free. It might look like you have trash on your wall in the end...but it could be cool.
