All About that Bass Pastel

I know I keep talking about Meghan Trainor's song All About that Bass.  I'm working on getting some extra printables to match this as well!  So be on the look out there!

The style of her video is so simplistic and fun.  The colors are girly and vibrant, so I decided to make a party invitation that has that same look and feel.

Here is a clip from the video...

The color in this picture is some how a little brighter than it really is on the invite.  You can see a birthday invite here, and a bachelorette invite here.

All About that Bass

I had too much fun making these invitations, yet now I have a certain song stuck in my head!

As the lovely Meghan Trainor said, "I'm all about that bass, no treble.  I'm gonna shake it, shake it, like I'm supposed to do."

I realize that I'm stating the obvious when I say this is the latest girl anthem.  What a fun theme for any girl-centric party.  I just so happen to know where you can order your own personalized invitations, at my etsy shop!

Now please excuse me, while I conduct my own dance party...

Birthday Week Day 3

I've always been mildly interested in gardening, but more lazy than interested.  Weeding in the summer heat always seemed like punishment when I was a kid.  So when I got married I tried for 2 years to keep plants alive and was very unsuccessful. This has been my first year of real gardening.

This summer we took charge of the yard.  My husband made two raised beds for a vegetable garden!  If you follow me on instagram, you've seen a lot of pictures of squash, zucchini and green beans.  After 3 years, I finally grew something!  Not to mention that my hydrangeas are still alive; which I count as a great accomplishment compared to last year.

All that to say, after growing green beans I get how "Jack and the Bean Stalk" became a fairy tale.  (The bean seedlings doubled in size every 12 hours!)  Who doesn't love a little whimsy while celebrating their birthday?

Birthday Week Day 2

All things French may seem a little blasais.  But have you been to Paris?  I have; and it was pretty magical.  I was 17, and my crazy parents let me spend a week backpacking through Europe with some friends.  We got to Paris late at night, dropped our bags off, and headed straight to the Eiffel Tower.  It was glittering, sparkling, and everything magic.  I was barely in Paris for over 24 hours and most of it was standing in line.  I did manage to wonder the streets a bit, and happen upon delicious bakeries, carts selling crepes, and I even managed to get my hands on some quiche.

So basically my take-away from Paris was that this city is unbelievably beautiful and romantic, and I have a bad sweet tooth.

If you are looking for some french macaroons in St. Louis go to La Patisserie Chouquette.

Hostess Envy

One blog that I like to read is Hostess with the Mostess.  They are basically the same set up over and over again.  Large apothecary jars filled with candy.  I table with with sweets with a themed background.  Adorable children running around.  All they do is change the colors, but I still love reading it because it's just so darn cute!  Here are some of my favorites.
