Jane's Intarsia Knit Hat

I love making gifts for all the nieces and nephews in my life.  This year I made a series of hats for the three little girls in my life.  I happened to make this specific hat a little small for the toddler in my life.  This would actually fit a one year old perfectly. It has a circumference of 14.5 inches and is 7.5 inches tall.  So I decided to list it on my etsy shop.    You can purchase the hat here.  If you decide  to purchase the hat use this promo code for free shipping: FSKNIT

I love the color combos.  It is a modern take on the traditional intarsia knit hat.  The crosses look like flying swallows.

If you are feeling ambitious you can get the knitting pattern here.

Publicity

I read a ton of blogs. "Modish: the blog" is an awesome one that features a lot of indie designers. It also has a monthly giveaway of tons of cool stuff, like the above picture. Maybe you notice the little lady I call winter in the bottom corner...That's right, I submitted a finger puppet for the giveaway!

Snow Day....again

Last week:
Monday : School closed early at 11am, therefore my class was canceled.
Tuesday: School closed all day.
Wednesday: School closed all day.
Thursday: Delayed start.

Fast forward to today.
Thursday: School closed.

There is maybe a centimeter of snow on the ground. People in the south will close school for anything.

Here are some pictures of last week. When I can inside I literally had a layer of ice on my coat.

This was the view from my porch.

I had to walk around this tree branch that was blocking the sidewalk to get to the park.

Part of the play ground.

Swings! Even the seat is covered in ice.
Many people were without power for up to five days. Branches were and some still are down everywhere. It looked like a tornado hit Cape.
