How Do You Know?

I moved to a new house with my parents in October. At my old house we had large trees that had big red buds that would always bloom too early along with the daffodils and that gave me an early inkling of spring. That's how I knew it was spring.

At my new house there is a huge tree in our front yard that is still completely bare. We have no flowers anywhere. I couldn't even find daffodils anywhere in my new neighborhood. I was very negative about my new neighborhood and it's lack of natural celebratory decoration of the up coming season.

Then earlier this week we received, by the grace of God, blue skies with 70 plus degree weather. I decided to take a run around my neighborhood and my eyes were opened to the signs of spring. I decided to take a nap in my back yard while listening to an audio book...here is what I found in my own new back yard. Sadly it was the first time I had bothered to look in the back.

All of that was in my own backyard! How lovely!
Playing in the park with these kids sure brought up my spirits too.

I am one of those...

I wake up with the sun and love it. My body naturally starts to wake itself up in the mornings when the sun is rising. So I always found it really hard to wake up for school during the fall semester. This is because the sun would come up a minute later each day. Every day I felt like I got one minute less of sleep! That does NOT feel good.

Oh but the spring is wonderful. The sun rises a minute earlier every day and i feel like I got one more minute of blissfully peaceful sleep.

THEN STUPID DAYLIGHT SAVINGS happens! My body can't catch up with the sunlight! It is up an hour earlier and I feel groggy because my body isn't getting that extra hour of dark sleep anymore. It is waking itself up too early and just having weird fitful sleep for an hour during the sunlight. I HATE it.

I'm a kid who has weird dreams already. I don't need an hour of fitful half wake half dreaming CRAZY vivid dreams!

Having construction done on my house starting at 7 and trying to sleep through that as well is probably the other half of the problem...

Who knows...

I just want to get back with my love affair of spring, sunlight, and morning dew. I want to be your friend again!

BLUE PEOPLE!

While I was growing up my dad loved to watch twilight zone, Hitchcock, and other sci-fi/mystery programs. One day my dad and my sister watched the Twilight Zone about the blue people. The premise of this episode is that "blue people" have to set up every minute in time. They have to create it. So the "blue people" know that at 9:03am I will be walking into my bedroom after breakfast, so they only set up my bedroom, putting everything into place. Sometimes the blue people run out of time and not everything that was supposed to be put in the room gets there.

So this would explain why sometimes you look EVERYWHERE for something (say your keys) you walk out of the room and come back and they are lying on the table. That's when you blame the blue people.

Even though I have never seen this particular twilight zone blaming lost things on the blue people is a common occurrence in my family. I think Emily has even blogged about this too.

So I lost my favorite headband months ago. I knew I had left it in my car and then never saw it again. So then today I found it right next to the seat belt! Stupid blue people!

I have also been missing my favorite hair clip with feathers ever since Thanksgiving!! I'm waiting for the blue people to catch up with me.
I'm just hoping today is the day they put it where I last saw it, in my closet. I would then have no more beefs with the blue people.

Great minds think alike

HA I just found this picture on Carrie's Blog.

I just thought it was funny that I had put a green chandelier in front of mine as well! Mine is not homemade like CarrieCan's is.

Improvements

About three weeks ago I painted my room, with the lovely assistance of my BF.

My mom picked out a pretty green color that matches my bedspread. I found this
on the Craft Blog.
So I copied it. It was my goal to get this done before my college friends came to visit me. I did this hours before they came over.
I probably should have done it lower over the couch, but too late now!

My room is starting to look like it is mine. All I need now is a new desk.....
